Going to see a Doctor. Been feeling lightheaded.

Here at Smojo Speaks I jump around a lot with my topics. This one is regarding my health and my inability to function properly in the past week. Today I will be making my first trip to a doctor in 5 or 6 years and I am not sure what to except but I am hoping they will be able to tell me what is wrong with me.
For the past week I have been feeling very lightheaded and dizzy at times. It has been hitting me at work and sometimes even while I am driving. The moments when I am lightheaded do not last long but it does make me feel as though I am going to pass out which is very scary to me. Being nervous about passing out is no fun so I am heading to a medical clinic today to get checked out and hopefully be told what is causing this.
This is all so weird for me because normally I am a very healthy person which is why I haven’t been to a doctor in over 5 years. Occasionally I will get a minor case of the sniffles and that is about the sickest I get. When this first started happening to me I went where most of us go to get answers. The Internet. Unfortunately the internet is not helping my nervousness since it has a vast amount of information on being lightheaded. Some of the reasons range from diabetes, anemia, low blood pressure, low blood sugar and the list goes on. After reading up on the subject I started to rule out some possible causes. For one I know I am not anemic because I intake plenty of iron a day through red meat. It has nothing to do with dehydration because I am taking in plenty of fluids. Actually this might come as a shock to some. I stopped drinking Pepsi after this started. I’ve been Pepsi free for a week.
Whatever the cause is I will handle it. My hope for all this is that I don’t have to see a bunch of different doctors and specialists. I am really looking for the doctor I see today to be able to give me an answer to my problem.

Strange: I am a 70 year old man, healthy, gets plenty of sleep, walk and golfs. Eats well, I take a multi vitamin in the morning. Also take blood pressure medication which is under control and has been for many years. I take a potassium pill as the doctor had indicated my potassium leval was a little low. Now and then I get a little light headed and then it goes away. I drink enough fluids and very seldom take an alcholic drink. Does any one have any suggestions or got an idea why I feel like this?
